2 questions on “Tables, Columns and Rows – Quiz

  1. What is really the difference between column and field? My residual knowledge reminds that Rows are otherwise called Records while Cpolumns are otherwise called fields.
This make question no. 5 very confusing and difficult for me to get the correct answer, kindly through more light, i need your assistance

    • Hello Hector,
If there are 100 clients in the clients table, the column first_name would contain 100 first names. A field would contain only one first name.
A database field contains only one piece of information. Example: a field would contain John William’s phone number.
If it is still not clear, please let me know.
The difference between column and field is treated in chapter “THERE IS ONE COLUMN TO STORE ALL PHONE NUMBERS. HOW DO I KNOW WHICH PHONE NUMBER IS BELONGING TO ARUN RAMPAL?” in the lesson related to this quiz:

      Kind regards
